On Sunday January 29, lovers of great Jamaican music gathered to pay tribute to “The Crown Prince of Reggae” at the very first event in Reggae Month 2012 put on by the Jamaica Music Museum in association with the Dennis Brown Foundation and the Jamaica Recording Industry Association (JARIA).

The album was two years in the making, but well worth every minute of it. One of the finest voices from Jamaica has released one of the best albums to come outta yard in a very longtime. On par with legendary vocalists like Beres Hammond, Gregory Isaacs, and - yes - John Holt, Mr. Melody may have finally reached that 'Sweet-spot' all artists from developing nations strive for; which is to bust out to the rest of the world and be recognized - not merely as a good 'reggae' or Jamaican singer, but a good singer - Period!

Smirnoff Jamaica again did it, with Nightlife Exchange Project London meets Jamaica or Jamaica meets London whichever way you want to take it the flight was intense and on arrival it was pure bliss. The anticipation of this event was higher than having wait up to see Kartels television show Teacher’s Pet.

This year the Montreal International Reggae Festival celebrated it’s 8th year of bringing together all the different genres of reggae from across the world. The festival attracts thousands of people every year with live music from the best upcoming artists all the up to well known foundation acts.

On March 11th, 2011 Japan experienced one of the most devastating natural disasters. They were the victims of an earthquake, 8.9 in magnitude which also rocked the hearts of the Japanese and non Japanese community. In response to this, thirty four members of the Jamaican music community voluntarily came together to compose, “15 seconds/ You’ll Rise Again”, a title which was appropriately fitting.
